Support
Welcome to the Bill Reminder support page. Bill Reminder keeps every bill, subscription, and recurring payment organized in one place. This support article highlights key features, common questions, troubleshooting tips, and the ways you can reach us.
Feature Overview
Bill Reminder groups bills into Overdue, Upcoming, and Paid sections with polished card layouts for quick scanning. When you tap a bill you get a detail sheet showing amount, due date, status, and notes, plus direct actions to edit, mark paid/unpaid, or delete. Recurring payments are easy: once you switch on “Repeat this bill” and choose a frequency, the app automatically generates the next instance after you mark the current one paid. Reminder Service schedules notifications based on the lead time you set; when you change a bill’s status, reminders update or cancel automatically. In Settings you can toggle notifications, switch between system/light/dark appearance, and discover our other apps. When you add a brand-new bill, iOS may show Apple’s rating dialog so you can share feedback instantly.
Getting Started
1. Add your first bill by tapping the plus button and filling in title, amount, due date, optional notes, and reminder preferences.
2. Bills move between Upcoming, Overdue, and Paid automatically as due dates pass and statuses change.
3. Keep notifications enabled so you never miss a due date; you can customize the reminder lead time for each bill.
4. For repeating payments, enable “Repeat this bill,” pick the frequency, and set an optional end date; the app handles future cycles automatically.
5. Use the bill detail sheet anytime you need to update status, adjust fields, or delete the bill; you can jump from there into the full editor.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I attach notes to a bill?
A: Yes. Notes are stored with the bill and visible inside the detail sheet. The carousel previews intentionally hide them to keep the cards clean.
Q: How do recurring bills work?
A: Create or edit a bill, toggle “Repeat this bill,” choose the frequency (weekly, monthly, etc.), and optionally set an end date. When you mark the bill paid, the app generates the next instance automatically.
Q: I turned off notifications accidentally. How do I re-enable them?
A: Open Settings inside the app, revisit the Reminders section, and enable notifications. If iOS prompts, allow notification permission again.
Q: What happens when I delete a recurring template?
A: Bill Reminder asks you to confirm. When you proceed, Reminder Service cancels associated reminders, and any future instances linked to that template are removed.
Q: Does the app sync or back up data?
A: Bill Reminder currently stores data on-device via SwiftData. To keep your data safe, ensure iCloud backups are enabled for your device.
Q: I saw a prompt to rate the app.
A: After certain positive actions (such as adding a new bill) iOS may trigger Apple’s review dialog. Dismiss it if you are not ready to rate.
Troubleshooting
If reminders are not arriving, first confirm notifications are enabled in both the app’s Settings and iOS Settings > Notifications > Bill Reminder. Double-check the reminder offset—setting 0 means you only get notified on the due date. A device restart can also help; if the issue continues, reach out to support.
If recurring bills appear duplicated, make sure only the template bill has the “Repeat this bill” toggle enabled. Delete the extra copies and keep the template intact.
If edits aren’t saving, verify required fields are filled—title must not be empty and amount must be greater than zero. Reinstalling the app can resolve rare data issues; jot down your bill list first because data currently resides locally.
